Trina Josdal is a Canadian tap dancer, choreographer, producer, educator, and playwright from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, dedicated to preserving rhythm tap and jazz music. Trained by Barb Jackman, she moved to New York City in 2002 to continue her studies and later settled in Toronto.

She has performed internationally, touring Europe with Magic of the Dance and appearing in the Asian tour of 42nd Street directed by Marc Bramble. As co-founder and Artistic Director of Vintage Taps, she develops original productions, educational programming, and community events that celebrate tap history and connect Canadian dancers with influential artists such as Jane Goldberg and Brenda Bufalino, who have led week-long residencies in Toronto.

Trina co-created, wrote, choreographed, and performed in The Laundry List, Vintage Taps’ original tap show, which won the Spirit of Fringe Award at the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival and was named one of The Globe and Mail’s “Favourite Cultural Moments of 2019.” Through performing, choreographing, producing, and teaching, she continues to share the joy, history, and musicality of tap dance.
